Sire: Harvard

His Honor (Hank)  is sired by the imported Elite Hanoverian stallion Harvard (Hohenstein x Cardinal xx) who is a proven sire of excellence. His legacy is quickly establishing in Europe and North America. Harvard has produced multiple Licensed sons, numerous State Premium, Special Premium and Premium Mares, Elite Auction Foals, a Bundeschampion, a finalist at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses, successful International Advanced Dressage competitors, high scoring Oldenburg mares, in 2008 he dam-sired the Champion Filly of Germany, Foals of Distinction, Top Hanoverian Foals and legions of Premium Foals. A strong transmitter of type, Harvards are stamped with his elegant head and convey his kind, sensible disposition. Harvard is a very modern type and sire of talented dressage and hunter progeny. One of his greatest hallmarks is the wonderful temperament that he passes on to his offspring. At his performance test in 1999 he scored a perfect 10 for temperament and straight 9's for character, willingness and ability to work, constitution and rideability.  Standing 16.3hh he is dark brown-black, with four white socks and a connecting star and stripe. He scored straight 8's for his Walk, Trot and Canter and currently holds a Hanoverian breeding index of 136 with indexes of; Walk 128, Trot 133, Canter 131, Type 142, Head 150, Neck 149, and Limbs 125.

Harvard was bred in Germany by stallion producer Heinrich Laymeyer and began his sport career by being selected as a Premium stallion at his licensing in Vechta at 2.5 years old. The following year he was crowned the Hauptprämie Vice-Champion (1-B Prämie) of the 2000 Oldenburg Main Premium. There are many factors that play a role in the decision when the Verband awards the coveted Main Premiums including the stallion’s development in sport, his results at the stallion performance test and, above all, the quality of his first offspring when they are inspected. Following Harvard's successful top 5 placement at the German Bundeschampionate finals as a Four and Five Year Old with scores up to 8.2, Harvard's breeding career flourished at the renowned Hengsthaltung Kathmann in Germany. While there, he sired numerous “true to type” Elite auction foals, top quality approved stallion sons, State Premium and Verband's Premium daughters and a legacy of successful sport horses in Europe. In short, Harvard is the epitome of the upgrader type, passing on his striking good looks, wonderful character and elastic, athletic gaits.
