The 1996 born Oscar was bred by Gert Willem van Norel and was by Wolfgang x Nabuur x Courville xx.

Oscar was first competed by Edward Gal in the KWPN Stallion Competition and later ridden by Emmelie Scholtens, who was then based at Stable Laarakkers, a long-time working partner of Van Norel stud. He was trained up tp Prix St Georges level.

Oscar presented his first crop of foals in the autumn of 2001 and the KWPN Foal Inspection committee stated that "Oscar showed a uniform collection of well developed, well muscled, sport horse type of foals who stand well in a rectangular model. The movement and self carriage is good."

Oscar's most famous offspring include the KWPN licensed small tour stallion Uphill (by Oscar x Apollonios xx), the 2007 KWPN Mare Champion of the 4-7yo keur mares Whistley (by Oscar x Apollonios xx), the World Young Horse Championship competitor Anne Beth (by Oscar x Corleone), and KWPN licensing champion Cover Story (by Oscar x Corleone), who also recently suffered from a severe colic attack and was operated on.

Van Norel was very enthusiastic about his home bred product: "Jazz is untouchavle but in my eyes I think Oscar is right behind him," Van Norel said in 2008. "Oscar passes on his strong points: his great conformation and expression, his strong movements, his toughness and size."

damSIRE: Ronaldo x Weltmeyer
Magic Ronaldo is sired by the legendary black foundation stallion, Rubinstein I, who performed at international level in dressage, and who originates from the same line as the Olympic Champion Rembrandt. He has sired over 80 approved stallions, among which Rohdiamant, Rubinus, and Magic Ronaldo. Magic Ronaldo's dam, the State Premium mare Carella, originates from one of the best maternal lines of Oldenburg. She also produced the approved stallion Rubin Star N, who won in 1994 the Hengstleistungsprüfung in Munchen-Riem , and the mare, Rendezvous, who won the Bundeschampionat for four year old mares. Magic Ronaldo was champion of the stallion shows in Oldenburg in 1997. In 1999 he did a fantastic performance test in Neustadt-Dosse, with 10's for canter, and character. In 1999 he became reserve champion of Oldenburg based on his performance and progeny. In the Netherlands, Magic Ronaldo was successful in the Stallion Competition of 2000 and 2001. The KWPN was very positive about his progeny, who are very sought after at auction and yielded high prices. Magic Ronaldo is currently being trained by Edward Gal for the Light Tour.
